Mimesis

In his series entitled ‘Mimesis’, Paris-based photographer Seb Janiak has manipulated photographs of insect wings to look like blooming flowers.
Doing all the work by himself, Seb spent months to find and collect the insects at some taxidermist collectors and shops. Then he chose and cut each wing or insect parts and arranged them to resemble the petals of blooming flowers.
This series has been created without any special effects or retouching, but using techniques of analog photography, namely superimposition and photomontage.
Below is a selection of Janiak’s stunning photographs but you can see the entire project on his website.
